How it works

Three steps to a printed page

  1. Pick easy, medium or hard.

  2. Choose how many puzzles you want and how many fit on a page.

  3. Press Print. Answer pages come last so you can staple them separately.

How to play sudoku

Fill the grid so every row, every column and every 3×3 box contains the digits 1 to 9 exactly once. Some numbers are given at the start. There is no maths involved; the digits could just as well be letters or colours.

A good first move is to pick a digit, say 1, and look at each box that doesn't have one yet. Often the 1s already placed in nearby rows and columns leave only one square where it can go.

What the difficulty levels mean

Easy puzzles start with 38 numbers and can be solved by spotting the only square left for a digit. Medium starts with 31. Hard starts with about 26 and usually needs pencil marks: small notes of which digits could go where.

All of them have a single solution, so you never reach the end and find two possible answers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do the sudoku puzzles have answer keys?

Yes. With "Add answer pages" on, the solutions print after the puzzles, with the starting numbers in bold.

Can I print large print sudoku?

Yes. Choose 1 puzzle per page and each grid fills the sheet, with numbers about twice the usual size.

Does every puzzle have only one solution?

Yes. Each puzzle is solved by computer before it reaches you, and any that could have two answers are rejected.
